I still don't see a serious reason to updgrade to Vista.
What does it actually offer?
I suppose they will claim, "Vista is faster, more secure, and feature rich than ever before"
Exactly the same blurb for WinXP and Win98.
Although XP was supposed to be MORE SECURE THAN EVER, Microsoft left the Messenger service running as default so you could be bombarded with pop-ups. Well done indeed!
As for speed, I find Win98 Lite blazingly fast compared to XP. In terms of file operations, startup, and shutdown.
I dread to think how slow and bloated Vista is going to be.
What was the installation size again? 15GB? !!!!!!
What the hell is in there? I can just imagine ..
> WINDOWS VISTA IS INSTALLING ...
> TIME REMAINING: 3 DAYS
It just seems to me MS expect you to compensate for their new super-bloated O/S by upgrading to a Cray Super Computer.
I really dont need such a beast just for Internet access, doc reading, the occasional game, etc ..
I'm not going to pay for a gimmicky 3D interface, DRM, DX10, and more annoyances.
