The hand was just a fake looking pink plastic halloween prop I bought, but I covered it in white blue red and black makeup like myself, as well as some fake blood over the painted on blood to make it look more realistic.

If you want to do a zombie makeup job, my advice is don't try using lots of gray makeup, as the result looks fake. You don't need much makeup. You can get by with just those little packages of assorted makeup colors in the form of pencil thin sticks. Just rub on a bit of white and then blend it in, a little black, and then add bruises by making a large circle of blue and a somewhat smaller circle of red inside it and blending those together to get a purplish mark. Those little sticks of makeup go a long way. I still have quite a bit of makeup left cause I bought way too much.

For the blood, use vampire blood and this red gel stuff they have that dries up to make "scabs". That red gel stuff will stick to anything but is less realistic looking than the vampire blood. But it is much cleaner to work with, makes a 3d effect, and doesn't soak into fabrics as easily.
