The bigger the better;) Just keep an eye on the response time as you look at larger lcd's. Try a fps game on the demo model in the store before you buy to check for image ghosting trails. The blacker the screen when it's turned off, the better the contrast will be. Also, try setting the windows desktop to black, and check that it's not grey when the contrast/brightness are set the way you like. Widescreen shouldn't be a problem either. A lot of games support widescreen, or use black borders at the sides. Also, your monitor may allow you to adjust the horizontal image size independantly from the vertical size.
