Why is the average joe trying to ensure his website only works best under his favourite browser?
He has his reasons too -- trying to chip away at the defacto monopoly that MS has in the market place. Will it make any difference? Hardly, but any bit can help. Merely letting people know that alternatives exist can be a reason. You may think this is kind of a stupid way to do that, but hey... freedom of speech and all that.
