Reccomend a CPU emulator to teach assembly program

I've got this book called "How Computers Do Math" featuring the DIY-Calculator [do-it-yourself]. It takes you on a guided tour how computers work and throughout the book there is this workshop to build/program a calculator using assembly-language. Quit fun!
