Isn't the textbox cursor to do with the 1-second on 1-second off thing?
Perhaps you are clicking when it is flashing off.
You'll also notice this when you move the cursor around with the keys.
I changed my version so that the cursor was always visible when "something happened" in the textbox.
The button-click thing I've never noticed.
