I tried it on a S3 savage ddr card

I've never had quite a happy history with any S3 cards in the last 7 years......

Besides, what's the specs of the Yahoo guy's PC? If both B3d/BMax generated an error, I'm assuming it's a vid-card 3d initialization problem, probably due to an outdated, or underpowered video card.
