yeah basically be careful about what you include with your game. Some fonts are allowed to be used for personal AND commercial use (but these are rarer), others are free for personal use only but say in their FAQ to contact the author (presumeably so they can charge you, or maybe just so that they know what it's being used for), and others are not free for commercial or personal use. Then there's the whole "if you make a bitmap font from the font you can use it freely because you are not distributing the TTF code, which is copyright, you are distributing the image of the font instead, which cannot be copyright" issue...
