Hi folks, I seem to have come across a problem, which I was hoping somebody out there might have some answers to. See, my parent's PC keeps running worse and worse, and we have no backup CD for which to revert back to. We're running windows ME. Now, don't laugh, don't cringe, the PC is 6 years old and that was the latest and greatest*cough* version out at the time. My parents don't want to upgrade either - or spend any more money on it at all.
Anyway, the system keeps getting worse and worse. We're also unable to download anything beyond, say, 50 megs, as we're on dial-up (again, they don't want to spend money), and the connection kicks out after like 4 hours. So these ...alternative packages are out of the question, as we could never download them.
Would anyone have any ideas on how to restore a version of windows without a restore disk? I am still recommending they go out and buy WinXP, or get it via OEM sites, but I'm still fishing for alternatives. Any help would be appreciated.
