Er... well I'm 46 and I am still enjoying every major game companies offerings, but I have a definate serious 'tilt' towards the Nintendo 'in-house' camp, why? Because although other companies do make games (and consoles) they have a tendancy to produce one or two good games. Nintendo's games producers (and I include our very own JP and SP amongst them) have understood something deeper about the design and development of a game. They continue to provide excellence, innovation and thoroughly enjoyable games of very different natures.
Wii should come in at a good price point and will probably have a killer disc thrown in too - with lots of fab things you can test out your new controller skills on . That alone will encourage a lot of old and new gamers to purchase.
Banshee's quite right - some people will feel they have out grown anything to do with the Nintendo system, but then probably end up playing Eye Toy 3 or something similar on other systems. People are different and expect different things from a games/media console.
Some just won't be able to afford the bigger toys and go for the less expensive ones. Some will see the idea of audio in your controller as awesome (as I do) yet others will just tut at the idea. Sony have their work cut out, but hey no one would have thought PS1 would have been so domineering that PS2 was a guaranteed success.
If I can I shall buy a Wii - and as soon as I can afford the others I shall consider them as optional extras.

PS I love my PSP too , but I have to say WOW when I look at my sons' Nintendo DS Lite, playing Metroid Hunters or Mario Kart - online over wifi in beautiful bold colours with two very bright screens and against lots of other players across the world - now that is something else - more akin to gamers heaven! Thanks Ninty.
