They are working on pulling the GUI out from the core program, and there has already been one full GUI modification, so you may be able to build that on top of this if you want :)

I'm going to work on a quick tutorialish thing for Max (I am reluctant to say tutorial because I'm bad at tutorials) as I figure this out today.
