Better pride and exuberance than self-loathing and despair - been there, done that, still got the damn silly haircut to prove it.
I'd do nothing to hurt my wife, equally though I'd do nothing (except drink, smoke and whatnot) to hurt myself. British house prices are sickeningly high at the moment and it's a matter of practicality that after 13 years together I walk away with more than £20k to invest in my next property (or binge). Not greed, nastiness, hate or spite, just being realistic.
Let me enjoy myself, or pretend to at least, without preaching. It's probably going to cost me so I may as well get a laugh out of it.
