Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap.
A great mix of platform and RPG elements. Wonderboy in Monsterland defined the direction for later Wonderboy games, but Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap perfected it. One of my all-time favourite games, and I can still spend countless ours on it (and also on the superb sequels, Wonderboy in MonsterWorld and the final installment that was only released in Japan called "Monsterworld 4".
