See above reply. Just because others have a different viewpoint than you, doesn't make them cretins.
That's not why they're cretins. But do enlighten me. What word is suitable for someone who thinks BlitzMAX is too complicated, so he'd sooner have a Blitz3D library for C++? Thing is, for some people a language that is so open that licensing built-in FMOD functionality is no longer an option for BRL isn't much of a step forward.
Sure it is. Try and keep the big picture in mind. If you want to use FMOD (or BASS or whatever), you still can. You just need to get the license for it yourself. On the sum of it's parts, BlitzMAX is a step above Blitz3D in nearly every aspect. ok so they mentioned it 2 years ago. thats a long time 2 years though.. isn't it?
And why do you suppose that is? Could it possibly be that Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, decided to change DX9 and it's interfaces, to such a degree that it was entirely incompatible with DX7, and programs designed for DX9? Is there the slighest possibility that rewritting Blitz3D from scratch to accomodate DX9, that it would have taken even longer than Max3D, which with it's abstract interfaces, is much more robust, and resistant to 3rd party changes (like for example DirectX 10)?A DirectX 9 version would not likely have come any faster than Max3D - and you would then be whineing that it wasn't DX10. There's always something, isn't there?
