Actually the "after" command is not there because it's not possible to do what the after command did...From which list? Including aliens or not?
Sure, I'm just pointing out that the simplicity of B3D's command set and the wholesale adoption of OO by Max are mutually exclusive. But that was just one example - compare and contrast loading and playing a mod file in B3D to the same in Max and it's the same story.
if your position is that you wanted something which was no more complex than Blitz3d, you didn't want DX9 OR BlitzMax
Yeah, Red really just needs someone to use that DX7.DLL to get bump mapping (ie from a grey-scale image, not a normal map) working and he'd be away.
I disagree slightly, though, because I agree with Eurythmia ("the only thing we want is 3D-power in our hands with ease of use") - it's not so much a matter of wanting to write shaders as being able to type "Shadows True". I dare to venture that once folk get a nice modern "unified" renderer as some sort of baseline, they actualy will stop the tech waiting game and use it to create somrthing. It's the milestone step that we've waited so long for.
