Darkheart: uhm, but why couldn't you do simple 'oldfashioned' code in BMax then? No-one forces you to use the new stuff compared to classic Blitz.. (OO, incbin, pointers, (super)strict etc.)
I don't really think the simplicity is something classic-blitz-only. Perhaps in BMax one tends to create bigger games than in classic Blitz due it's capabillities to manage big stuff somewhat better.
Let's say, I don't consider myself an A-grade coder, it's just fun messing around, and I usually do small tools for x-development @ my humble MSX. At least I don't compare myself with some of the coders here who've experience in C, C++, C#, even asm! But yet I find Bmax quite pleasant to work with, and apart from the 'his royal n00bness' aka 'the manual', I don't think BMax is very hard.. might take a few days to get used to the superstrict'ness and all the differences compared to B+/3d.. but alas.. how hard can that be..?
