You could be a very good coder of a particular style of game (to narrow this down to a conclusion), but you may have to hunt for a job that requires you as an individual not for what you are capable of. A or B possibly may have no effect on helping you but either one of them is better than nothing. However, remember that indie sales are not relational to your capability and winning a competition can be as fruitless as not even entering it.
