Also, HDV allows you to downscale the format to NTSC/PAL and save it as 4.4.4 color space, that will allow to do real greenscreening, unlike all MiniDV formatis with the crappy 4.2.0 respectively 4.1.1 color space model.
But to be honest, if you want to make textures then you surely don't need a highres video camera. Most video cams are weak when it comes to photography. Better buy a cheap Digicam with a high resultion and a good brand, like pentax , Minolta or any other photo-experienced company.
