There is even less of a noticable difference between the HD media than there was between VHS and DVD. It is almost unnoticeable to some people.
It wasn't all that long ago that people were forced to switch from VHS to DVD. I certainly don't plan on switching to HD media unless I see a reason to. Unless the cost of a player is about 50 bucks.
I'm perfectly content with older movies on DVD and even VHS. I don't even like new movies. They seem to all be crap lately... even the ones that win awards aren't as good as the old movies.
It is important to note that my family's first DVD player was my ps2, which I got the summer of 2002. We didn't get another one for a year or so...
