out of all the 'disscussion' above, i find two very interesting points that were brought up... one by ENAY, believe it or not :)

The next generation of Harddrives are gonna die from all that harddisk churning.
hhhhmmmm...
not being a hardware geek, i wonder if this is really gonna become an issue... i mean, even though the drives are already constant spinning, there is sure to be an increased access frequency, more so , i would imagine on systems with lower memory profiles... this may in fact become something one might be wise to consider...

the second, was a comment by 'Duck... again, will wonders never cease :)

But just to clear up some confusion the Vista "bloat" is not going to be effecting full-screen applications in a significant way (although all you people making windowed mode games are probably screwed), as the task sceduler will prioritizer fullscreen applications to non system critical processes (the downside of this is, that we're probably going to see more performance hungry applications with "full screen user interfaces

in one fell swoop, MS may have not only taken the biggest steps to date to enhance the windows paradigm, and actual user productivity when using the windows gui and os facilities... but they also may have, paradoxically given developers of these same apps, good reason to make their applications full screen only... thus defeating the whole purpose...

of course, final judgement on both these points are reserved for the actual release... but i did find these interesting observations...
