More trouble than its worth creates extra background tasks,
As opposed to Aero? Last I checked, Windowblinds didn't have nearly the same hardware requirement as Vista. And I don't know which version you've been using, but it's always worked for me. I guess the whole nt kernel thing escaped you.
Nope. But the main source of BSOD errors wheren't kernel related. They where (and still are) driver related. Apart from legacy support the Win98 kernel is much more stable (and thoroughly tested) than the NT kernel. The NT kernels major advantage was mainly an implementation difference (since it was VMS based rather than DOS based). You will be doing stuff in linux/QNX/ETC in twice the time it will take for me to do stuff in windows or osx.
Or the more probable scenario, that I'll be done with my Linux or QNX application by the time you figure out which of the conflicting MSDN articles is accurate.Perhaps you should spend some time actually developing for the platform you're crusading for?
Naturally, I uninstalled it and never looked back.
Well it is a Microsoft application after all.But just to clear up some confusion the Vista "bloat" is not going to be effecting full-screen applications in a significant way (although all you people making windowed mode games are probably screwed), as the task sceduler will prioritizer fullscreen applications to non system critical processes (the downside of this is, that we're probably going to see more performance hungry applications with "full screen user interfaces" - think the original DarkBasic). And people are not going to switch to Linux. Pragmatic buyers go for the market leader, and Linux simply doesn't have that at the moment.
