I agree that it seems a cool idea to have your apps running in 3D, but you know. I still think that's too a bit too childish like and the trade off you get in hardware and CPU usage, I don't think that's a good step forward at all.
If it were then we'd be using mobile phones with 333MHz processors in them by now.
If you'd told me 3GB I'd be surprised. But 15GB! DOes that include an extra swap file?
I mean a rough windows directory install in 98 is like 200meg. In XP it's 1.2GBish. I mean that's a 600% increase! On what is barely much difference in operating, there's very little in 98 you can't do in XP.
Imagine a console that had a processor, memory space etc increased by 600%. That's a whole lot of extra power. Hence the reason why Windows is just getting far too bloaty.
And then vista is like 1200% even bloatier than XP!
The next generation of Harddrives are gonna die from all that harddisk churning. Microsoft sink to an even newer low.
It's the equivalent of getting a high powered Ferrari and sticking 4 wheels the size of a cup on it. With all that power, it's still basically gonna chug along at a throttled pace.
