I don't think people are saying he's wrong period, just that he's painted the whole scenario with too broad a brush...anyhow it's not like he said anything that wasn't leaning on the side of common sense - I mean if I knew somebody who really, really thought they could stroll up to a publisher with a head full of ideas and walk out with a big fat contract...well I'd run indoors every time I saw them coming! They'd have to be really dysfunctional or something to be so detached from the real world...which makes me wonder why somebody at the top rung of the ladder would even bother to open their mouths about such a fantasy scenario in the first place. No use to anybody except the heavily medicated dreamers out there...There is nothing new to what he's saying at all.
