If you want into the support industry, and by wierd twist of fate you wanted to work in my support department, you would have to learn to get all of the information first before attacking a customer or their supplier...
I actually worked as an onsite technician for 3 years, before that a corporate networking consultant.
The support you just gave would have been gross misconduct.
Good Morning Becky! Read the timeline!
[translate:xmlspy]Here's a zip, dont know if anyone wants this public (or knows about it), but give it a go! I will give no info about it other than the hint there is an executable inside![/translate]
[Translate:Kuron]Great! A Blue Screen of Death with XP (my first ever), I ran something without evening asking what it was[Translate]
[Translate:Dark Half]Perhaps you should find out what something is before you just run it[/Translate]
[Translate:Kuron]Even though I know its not a virus (cause I scanned it), I have no clue that someone could write a program with DB or Blitz that could delete files, corrupts memory addresses, and still do harm. Meaning I should still ask about something before I just run it[/Translate]
The support I gave was "DONT JUST DOWNLOAD AND RUN SOMETHING WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IT IS", how hard is that to understand? That is an industry standard, in every business, and repeated to every casual pc user in the world on a daily basis. I can actually name a few people at work (office users) who ran something from their email and gave us a bit of havoc in the support department.
I suggest you guzzle down that morning coffe or soft drink and wake up before attempting to give your opinion of someone else's opinion.
