Try putting this in each of your text styles:

margin-top: 1px;
margin-bottom: 1px;
margin-left: 1px;
margin-right: 1px;
padding-top: 1px;
padding-bottom: 1px;
padding-left: 1px;
padding-right: 1px;

Or if they are all the same:

margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;

You can of coarse change them to how much space you want. Yeah, validating your pages helps too.
