Grey Alien, you just need a change of scenery, full stop. The last time that happened to me I emigrated (I didn't defect, okay) and I havn't been back to the UK in 7 years!!! Woohoo!
I recommend it btw. The UK can be very depressing, from what I remember, or am unable to forget.
