Actually I'm a huge FPS fan since Doom, got and played nearly all of them. Just that Quake4 seem well ... boring and "unclear" as to where I was and what I was suposed to be doing (maybe I was too tired).
Painkiller was a great game, but at the end of the day it was like Serious Sam (also fab) which was like ... DOOM of course. Why? Hordes, it's all about hordes. Too many modern games focus on a few tough baddies with good AI instead of a roomful of grunts wanting to be mashed with a blast from a rocket launcher hehe.
