Shane Monroe also did the original version of the Blitz Basic docs
He did, and they were lousy. Everyone's biggest gripe with Blitz in the early days was its poor documentation. If Guildhall and Mark Sibly had been left on their own, Blitz Basic would never have been such a success to begin with.
Blitz Basic was already successful on the Amiga and had been for almost a decade. BlitzPC was just a continuation of that. When Shane Monroe started getting out of his pram at the slightest little thing, the Blitz community divided (although hugely in favour of this site) and a lot of people disappeared. Shane Monroe later tried to set up blitzprofessional.com as a rival to this site (and listening to rumours that the next version of blitz (which became BlitzMax) was going to be called Blitz Pro), which was nothing more than a display of cock-waving and elitism. Newcomers to Blitz were openly unwelcome there. he tried to get ahead of the game and put one over on BRL, only they decided on calling it BlitzMax instead and the whole thing blew up in Monroe's face. His site died off very quickly and now Blitz doesn't even get a mention on his own site at www.monroeworld.com.
See how loyal he is?
