FlameDuck: I fear there are situation where cyclic structures can't be avoided. Algos often even base their break condition on that.
I'm a fan of the GC driven system, you should know that :-) But the missing root ref count is a serious problem for a fully managed environment. But in most cases you can avoid it or "break the problem" by a good OO design.
But it is still a serious source for leaks that should NEVER be possible or happen in a fully managed system!
