Wonder if Todd has any intention of doing something about all the spam and bots (as I said before, this has to be fixed such that only registered users can edit pages -- maybe add a captcha and e-mail validation for registration too).

I've been busy with lots other things lately, and I unfortunately haven't been able to put much time into improving BlitzWiki. I do intend to fix the spam problem, but so far I haven't had much luck. I think the only real solution is to do everything you mentioned: required registration, captcha's, and email validation.

I'm also looking at using another Wiki engine. MediaWiki is too complex for what it does, it's too difficult for me to modify, and it's really not right for documenting a programming language and its API's anyway. MediaWiki was designed for creating an encyclopedia, where all of the pages would be independent. An API doesn't really work like that. For example, in an encyclopedia, the pages "Foo" and "Bar" would probably be unrelated. In an API, however, "Foo" might be a method of the "Bar" class. In other words, "Foo" would need to be a subpage of "Bar". That's not possible right now, but I think it's something that BlitzWiki really needs.

What do you think? Do you have any suggestions? Or can anyone recommend a "hierarchical" Wiki? I'm really looking for something small and simple that I can build new features onto.
