The Next Generation of Consoles

I think the Revolution control style will flop. Yes its innovative, but remember 2 things
1) change frightens people. "Clever things make people feel stupid, and unexpected things make them feel scared" - Fry from Futurama
2) People don't want to wave their arms about to play a video game. IToy is a classic example, its fun for about 3 minutes and then it gets tiresome. You'll lose WAY too much accuracy with a 'pointer/gun' style device over a thumbstick or a mouse. I've heard that you'll be able to wield the controller as if it were a sword - fine in theory, but go get your TV remote and see how long you can wave it about in mid air before your arms get tired, or you get thoroughly bored. Couple that with the fact that the virtual sword wont always do what you intended (yes that's speculation, but how many of these kinds of devices have been 100% accurate. Remember the 'gesture' mode in Black&White, and that was done with a very accurate mouse)

Don't get me wrong, I like innovation, but I can't see it catching on. Then again, I swore that the Spice Girls would be a one hit wonder so what do I know ;)
