If you live in the UK, and buy an LCD in the UK, you are entitled to a replacement, or refund, if there are any number of dead pixels. That is your right as a consumer. You only wave this right if you buy a monitor that is 'sold as seen'. Manufacturers and shops will always try to fob you off with all sorts of 'company policies', but the fact of the matter is it's your right as a consumer. Threaten them with the small claims court and watch the manager fold instantly. I once asked a stubbern manager to show me this so called company policy. She read her manual for a few moments then appolagised and gave me a refund.
