You've got to know your primary DNS provided by your ISP.
Use ipconfig /all
You should be entering the IP relegated to your DS into Mario Kart, not your computer's IP.
I suggest tracking down some of these people who you know have used livebox and ask them how they got it working. The Nintendo WiFi forums also have tons of troubleshooting information.
