My point in raising the bit about "what is democracy" is that, well actually exactly what y'all are saying. Thing is, who determines what behavior people should be protected from? And how is that determination made? Me, I definitely see being forcibly saturated in someone else's stink as a bad thing, and no, I could not simply choose to frequent another establishment. I move around a lot, and I have literally never encountered a no-smoking bar prior to laws being enacted. Basically, the choice is between putting up with smoke, and not having a social life. Still, is it bad enough that the behavior should be outlawed?
