Jhocking... I have no idea how this thread hasn't been locked... but all the things people have been wanting to post over the last few months have burst onto the thread. It is truely a great event.

You are exactly right. Just because a lot of people do something that doesn't mean it is right. A good system of government would allow people to do anything they want to in the privacy of their own home that doesn't endanger others. (like shooting wildly into the air with a minigun) This country seems to think that democracy is about taking a pole to see what popular opinion is and then making that law.
Thats not what we should be doing. Democracy is about the good of the country. What is good for the country is preserving freedom.
In the USA we have sort of lost sight of that. People aren't tolerant. But they believe themselves to be tolerant and unbiggoted.
