How would YOU reinvent the adventure game genre?

Justluke: As far as commercially succesful: it's all relative. One of the big downsides of a good adventure game is that they are relatively expensive to produce, in part due to the insane amounts of artwork that needs to be created for them. This means that you have more development costs to recoup, in a market were only a small percentage of any released games can be considered commercially succesful.

At the moment, LucasArts doesn't think the world is ready for another adventure game, their odds of making money are bigger by slapping together some other FPS and pasting their starwars junk on top of it.

It can still be succesful of course, it's just that *any* game that's expensive to create has a smaller chance of being so, the more expensive it is to produce.
