Want to read the boot sector of a flash disk to make it appear as 'fixed' to the system. I think I can probably get hold of pre-made s/w to do this, and I've found hex editors that can open a disc (rather than individual files), but out of interest I would like to know how to write a program to do the same.
IIRC, that is a function of the driver file that addresses the controller that the device is connected to.
For example, If I take a normal fixed harddrive and put it in a removable drive tray, it will automagically appear as a removable drive under windows...
