i'm searching a cool 2d animated sprite editor , (with layers) ! what's the best choice ? (i know photoshop)
While I prefer Photoshop as the best overall photo edit program, I found Paintshop Pro to be a lot easier when doing manual pixel work. It's easier to keep things pixel-perfect in paintshop, without unintentionally blending things all over the place.
Up to version 9 it also comes with a program called Animation Shop, which can be nice... paintshop & animation shop don't really integrate much though.
There are also dedicated sprite editors that could be even better suited to the task, but I've never used any of those myself.
