I use the normalmap plugin often at work, but have not tried the bumpmap - instead I use the Nvidia plugin for photoshop if I need to add "bumpmap" style stuff to my normalmaps. After having the greyscale bumpmap I just run it through the Nvidia plugin and "overlay" the layer on top of the base normalmap in PhotoShop.
