We went here years ago; needing two graphics cards is a sure sign the card makers do not have the right toys in the toy box.
In time they will have. Just like last time.
Once they do, the two card set ups will fall back into history just as fast and maybe even faster than last time.
This will leave anyone who's got one, with an out of date set up, and then no drivers to support obsolete hardware, just like last time.
They will aslo have a sizable chunk of cash gone missing in exchange for their short lived benefit, just like last time.
Only thing you can say about last time which has lasting value is that it is a known phenomenon, and we can at least learn from it.
One of the wisest things anyone could do now is to show that we as consumers remember the last time and buy a one card set up, and this would force the makers to come up with the new toys they should have thought about some time ago. The two card set ups simply feed more cash to a system that's clearly in need of repair. Buying twice as much from them will fix nothing for the future. But it is a choice, which is something I must suppose.
