( Well not Windows 3.X and before, obviously ;) )
Download:
http://www.glimmergames.com/downloads/testing/test.zip ( 250KB )
All it does is checks your OS version, sees what programs you have running and writes it all into a text file.
*** IT DOES NOT STORE ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION SO POSTING YOUR RESULTS HERE REVEALS NOTHING. IF YOU'RE RUNNING ANY PROGRAMS YOU DON'T WANT ME TO KNOW ABOUT ( EG: PORNFINDER 1.36 BETA ) THEN JUST CLOSE THEM DOWN BEFORE RUNNING. OR FEEL FREE TO REMOVE ENTRIES FROM THE DEBUG FILE IF YOU PREFER. I ONLY WANT TO SEE THAT IT'S BASICALLY FUNCTIONAL. ***
Instructions: Please download the zip, run the self-contained exe within and post the contents of the debuglog.txt file it creates here in a little codebox to make it easy for me to get the results.
Seems to work fine on XP Pro, but I've had to write the code for other OS'es blind, so I really have no idea how/if it will work.
I very much appreciate the assistance.
