however, i think if you're at the level where you actually need dxtc, then you've really just outgrown blitz3d and you should be moving on to something else, like torque or whatever has dxtc in it.
I believe you've misread the original question. As I read it, Ross said he had reached the pont where he need to know if Blitz3d was ever going to get dxtc, not that he had reached the point where he needed dxtc. While similar, they're not necessarily the same thing.
