FlameDuck: The vinyl record industry is still around. Nowhere near mainstream but for 'true' DJ'ing (seamlessley blending one tune into the next) records just cannot be beaten. Sure, Pioneer have taken steps to make CD almost as tactile as vinyl with their CDJ players, but it just aint the same :)
With the right gear, we are still able to produce more detailed sound from vinyl than will ever be capable of a 44.1KHz 16bit digital representation.
**EDIT** fair enough, SACD wipes the floor with vinyl in terms of audio quality, but SACD is even less popular than vinyl at the moment :)
