Of course! How silly of me. Ignore the fact you couldn't get DX working ;]
Nice try - but it wasn't my computer. It was Microsoft and IBM who couldn't get DX working. If there was one Linux distro, it would make things a lot easier on Mr Average Joe.
Cheeky answer: There is - Debian.Proper answer: There's not supposed to only be one Linux distro. That's the whole point. You choose the one which suits your needs best, in the particular situation.
I know, it's completly unfeasable for this to happen and it isn't what Linux is about, but this is where it becomes obvious just how different Windows and Linux are as OS's.
Exactly. One is a scaleable, flexible solution that you can tailor to your own needs - the other is a one-size-fits-all solution. The problem is that the former can become the later, but the later cannot become the former, and when someone tries, Microsoft gets all their lawyers in gear. Why would you criticise Linux in that manner?
I have a theory on that.
