I forgot to mention, you may find some VERY useful info in the ODE archives. There's a link to them in the top post of this thread. You can read it online or download the entire archive and search it offline, you can also google stuff like 'ode car setup' and it'll return results from the archive. It isn't easy to understand some of the posts, but there's a lot of useful info available which could help you.
