I have ResHacker working on the command line. Now all I need to do is change the value of a variable without bothering with making the user recompile the whole dll... which would cause endless problems.
I know the location of this variable in the compiled dll, so all I need to do is change what it says. This is doable and works through a hex editor. I need a program to do that automatically because not doing that would kill the user friendliness which I have been aiming at as an attempt to sort of make up for other aspects which are the exact opposite.
Are there any hex editor type programs that take values on the command line to write something to a particular spot on a file?
If not this, how can I get Blitz3d to overwrite a string on a file when I know its exact location? (The file I'm talking about is downloadable up above... location is 37144... my attempts so far using SeekFile and ReadString (Reading to test) just get Blitz to give an MAV).
Indiepath: This is all based around a magical feature that makes this a little bit different from other similar things :)
I had to set this apart in a few ways... all will be explained.
