@Flameduck - When I set out to write a game it gets finished very quickly, if I start a game now it'll be finished before Christmas. So we'll have to agree to differ on that one.

I dont buy into technology that doesnt exist yet. I like playing with 3D but you implied I should buy Max just because I hope it delivers on it's promise and want to buy it if my hope turns out right - but what if it doesnt? As a former DBP customer, i'm not getting stung again, I dont want to repeat that grief. So who is really the short-sighted one?

It took 27 hours for me to finish my first game in Blitz after buying it, it took TGC 5 years to get a language they released to a reasonably stable condition.

I'm a consumer and I buy the best I can afford. "The best" does not involve beta products in any way. As far as I am concerned Blitz3D is still the best 3D development platform for the lone home programmer, i'll goto Max if it emerges as the best, i'll goto Cobra if that emerges at the best. I'll goto DBP if ... no actually, once bitten and all that.

My brand loyalty only lasts as long as the results. Now I'm not mocking anyone who buys BlitzMax, it's multiplatform and it's got 2D which is all some people want, and i'm happy for you to beta test a potential purchase for me, but as for long term investment - I think we work to different timescales.
