I dont care much for the GUI either, i'd rather the 3D module was sorted as I, and I suspect others, wont be buying it until the 3D side is out and reported as stable.
I can't believe how many people are failing to see the bigger picture (tm) here.Apple and Microsoft are both about to embark on new endeavors. Microsft with Longhorn/Vista and DirectX 10, Apple with the Intel platform and Universal Binary thing. Perhaps the delay that you think has been a bad idea because it doesn't appease your own personal tastes, ideas and opinions, is still a good thing for you, as these are issues are not going to magically disapear (unless both Microsoft and Apple go bankrupt in the next 6 months or so) and perhaps what you percieve as a short-term delay, is actually a long-term investment in stable software on modern platforms. After all, what good would having a 3D module that doesn't work on Vista / 0OSX - Intel be? It's not like anyone starting a game now, is going to have it finished before either of these new platforms launch anyway.
Oh yes that's exactly what Mark does and I'm sure he enjoys coding that way. But that approach only frustrates his paying customers - us.
Speak for yourself. Not everyone is that short sighted.
