Can I make it plain, again, that I'm talking about DD in the future. Can we please stop going back to steam and it's inadequacies.
The real or imagined inadequacies of Steam are by design, rather than by accident, and probably a good indication of what's to come in the future (in our lifetimes, anyway).

Without getting bogged down in semantics, at the end of the day you're buying a product - that product is the game.
Nope. If you owned the game, you would be allowed to do whatever you wanted to with it including, but not limited to giving your friends a copy.

I just think that if we really are going to go totally DD in the future, it damn well better work and be user friendly, otherwise, like everything else, customers won't stay customers for long.
It's not like that now. Not because it's not possible, but rather because it's not profitable. I don't see how digital distribution is going to change this, particularly since the way things are now (defective games being shipped that don't even work / install) has become accepted practise.

You mean we're actually supposed to read those things?!
Not nessecarilly. But you're at least supposed to know why they're there in the first place.
