Digital distribution - the future

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Digital distribution - the future

The box and manual comes from a tree Jeremy, trees are a renewable resource. CD's are made from one of the polywhatsits, that comes from oil, which is a finite resource.

In terms of making the product mass production uses less fossil energy per unit than home burning a CD.

Using the argument that digital distribution uses less energy is rubbish.

Oh sure you can wait until you've got enough stuff to put more than 1 product on a CD - I lost my TreeMagilk Pro because I had a hard disk crash betweenh buying it and my next backup. I should have burnt it to CD strait away but I didn't, it wasnt enough to fill a disk and consequently I lost it. Dont make my mistake Jeremy - backup stuff that you buy digitally, and do it strait away.

It's a pain in the neck too, all my time wasted flaffing around with CD's, that I had to drive into town especially to buy in the first place - all so some company could save money and pretend they where being environmentally efficient.

I dont mind buying stuff online, I just dont see it as an advantage - especially environmentally.
